1st Year Anniversary Presents in Europe

Here are some first wedding anniversary gifts with a European theme. These paper wedding anniversary gifts make an ideal first anniversary present.

"Loch Ness Monster"

Relive a special memory or event. Set by Loch Ness, this tableau was created from a favourite photo. Commissioned to capture a wonderful honeymoon, the gift was given as a surprise and caused great hilarity. The couple love it and it was a really lovely memento to capture  a special honeymoon holiday.

"City of Love"

A wedding in Paris. The husband was dancing with his bride by the Eiffel Tower. Great detail and care is taken to match the tartan, sporran and wedding dress.

"Skiing in Chamonix"

This wedding was actually on the slopes! The bride and groom wore their ski clothes underneath the bridal kit. The brief was to add a bright sun and cable car and signposts. A border was added to include a message and the snow detail on navy blue created a pleasing frame.

"Windmill Wedding"

A totally unique English wedding set in cornfields complete with windmill and scarecrow. The scarecrow and windmill were taken from photos and the flowers in the bouquet matched the field flowers.

memories of a Florence honeymoon

"Honeymoon At Seaview"

Based on a series of photos taken at this Isle of Wight yacht club venue, I was able to incorporate elements from 3 different photos to create a papier mache sculpture with the dog, sailing club and couple.

"Florence"

Set against a backdrop of the "Ponte Vecchio" this sculpture brought back some very special memories of a this bridge and all the lovely old stone buildings.

White Horse Vale first anniversary gift

"White Horse Vale"

A commission depicting the White Horse Vale and two very special cats. This was a venue which had beautiful memories for the couple.

The rugby shirt logo was carefully copied to make the item of clothing instantly recognizable.

"Castle of Dreams"

An American couple always wanted to travel to England one day, so the tableau was set in a dream venue. They wrote:

"
Anita, you did a wonderful job I am especially proud of it; my husband is always coming up with the best gifts. I have never been able to match his creativity ... I could go on all day about how happy I am and how it turned out 100 times better than I could have ever imagined and I still don't know if I could put it all in words. thank you so much. you are a very talented artist." ~Jennifer

"Castle Steps"

A commission depicting a wedding complete with military uniform and a glimpse of honeymoon destination through the open arch. The glory of this medium is that you can mix two scenes together.

"A Wedding"

A commission depicting a Scottish wedding complete with tartan. The lake was surrounded with trees and bushes which I took care to represent.

This hotel venue was copied so as to get the exact detail of the Hardwick Hall Hotel and the confetti was added using actual confetti picked up from outside a church. The couple were very moved the confetti had actually been used for a real wedding.

"An Irish Wedding"

A commission depicting an Irish wedding. The details for the border were taken from the church windows and a flower within the wedding bouquet.

"Wedding Day"

A commission set at Cannizarro House. A mirror was used as well as twigs to represent the floral arrangements and setting used at the actual wedding.

"A VW Wedding"

A favourite Volkswagen van was used to transport the couple to their wedding eve destination. A favourite pet just had to be included.

fastnet boat sculpture rowing mirror
"Fastnet"

A commission depicting the rounding of the Fastnet lighthouse off the coast of Ireland. Research was undertaken to make sure the spinnaker was facing the right way as the boat rounded the rock.

"Skiffing at Thames Ditton"

This papier mache commission was for a rower from Thames Ditton Skiffing club. It is fun, yet accurate. This was commissioned by the rower's wife as a surprise anniversary present.
